The firefighters from the Port Detachment intervened quickly with two fire engines and an SMURD crew, extinguishing the fire at 6:33. ISU Constanta spokeswoman Anamaria Stoica confirmed that about 800 tons of ferrous scrap were destroyed in the fire, but there were no casualties. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
