A fire broke out in a train at Timișoara Nord Station, without passengers on board.

A fire broke out on Saturday, around 10:50 AM at a stationary train at Timișoara Nord Station, on the Timișoara Nord-Cruceni route.

At the scene, the 2nd Firefighters Detachment of Timișoara quickly intervened with two fire engines and a SMURD crew, having been alerted immediately by ISU Timiș. Upon the firefighters' arrival, the fire was manifesting with smoke emissions at the level of the engine compartment, but no casualties were reported as the train was empty. The fire was contained, and the firefighters acted to extinguish it.

So far, the cause of the fire has not been established, but an electrical short circuit is suspected to be the source of the problem.
