The local police of the Capital have sanctioned 41 individuals for the failure to clear sidewalks of ice or snow, imposing fines totaling approximately 100,000 lei. The General Directorate of Local Police of Bucharest Municipality emphasized that it will continue to monitor the situation, considering that sidewalks become dangerous due to the frost. The inspections focused on central areas, including important boulevards and the Historic Center. Most of those checked understood the importance of cleaning, and fines were lower for those who acted promptly. The local authority reminded that penalties range from 200-500 lei for individuals and 500-2,000 lei for legal entities. Approximately 300 entities have been ordered to clear snow from sidewalks.
