Extreme heat severely affects Bihor County, where meteorologists have extended the red alert warning, and temperatures have reached 41 degrees.

In the commune of Popești, the flow of rivers in the Crișuri basin has drastically decreased, and the watercourse that supplies the area has almost completely dried up due to the drought.

Over 6,000 residents depend on this source for supply, and the provision has been rationed, with water available only for two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. A representative of the local water company emphasized the seriousness of the situation, mentioning that the remaining stocks can cover the needs for only a few days. Although there is a reservoir in Suplac, the distance makes water transport difficult.

Residents who have wells have abandoned them, considering that they previously had water from taps. Solutions are limited, and the community is facing an acute water crisis.
