Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the European Commission has approved funding for two highways in Moldova: Pașcani-Suceava-Siret and Pașcani-Iași-Ungheni. These projects are crucial for the connectivity of the region and for defense, being funded through the European SAFE program, dedicated to dual-use infrastructure.

The works must be completed by 2030, and the design and execution contracts will be signed in the spring of this year, with the start of the works scheduled for autumn or spring of next year. Bolojan emphasized the importance of collaboration with local administrations to facilitate the initiation of the projects. Additionally, the prime minister discussed with the mayors of Iași County about the state budget, local taxes, and funding through the 'Anghel Saligny' program. The government welcomed the approval of the application for funding through SAFE, and further details will be communicated next week.
