The Council of EU finance ministers has issued recommendations for Romania, calling for effective measures to correct the excessive deficit by October 15, 2025. Romania must curb net expenditure growth and put an end to the deficit by 2030. Progress must be reported every six months, both in spring and autumn, with details on the implementation of these measures. The official announcement will be made later.
