The Economic and Social Council gave a favorable opinion to the ordinance capping the bonus for harmful conditions for civil servants at 300 lei and reducing the number of days of additional leave. Ministry of Finance employees are protesting and trade unionists are demanding urgent meetings with the Prime Minister. The budgetary impact of the cap is estimated at 1.35 billion lei. Unions are mobilizing to maintain bonuses and jobs, threatening protests and a general strike.
