The authorities in Olt intervened to relocate 27 vulnerable people housed in inhumane conditions.

In the Mihăești commune, Olt County, the authorities carried out an emergency intervention after discovering 27 vulnerable individuals, including those with disabilities and the elderly, housed in inhumane conditions in an unauthorized asylum.

The action was coordinated by the president of ANPDPD, in collaboration with various local institutions. The identified individuals were informed about their rights and the possibility of benefiting from social services in accredited centers. After counseling, they accepted relocation in safe conditions, receiving medical support and food during the intervention.

Meanwhile, the Bucharest Court of Appeal rejected the DIICOT accusations against Viorel Păca, the administrator of the asylum, establishing that there is not enough evidence to support the allegations of human trafficking and exploitation. The judge mentioned that the housed individuals were benefiting from medical services and recreational activities, contrary to the allegations made.
