The company that produces Mounjaro warns that a counterfeit treatment with the same name is being sold on the market in Romania as a supplement.

Eli Lilly Romania warns about the marketing of weight loss capsules under the name Mounjaro, which is actually an injectable medication from the company's portfolio. The pharmaceutical company emphasizes that Mounjaro is marketed in Romania only in the form of injections and is dispensed only on prescription in pharmacies.

 "Mounjaro is not authorized in the form of capsules or dietary supplements. Any product presented in this way is not part of Lilly's portfolio, so its safety, efficacy, and ingredients cannot be verified," states Eli Lilly Romania.

The number of Romanians facing obesity is on the rise: nearly one in two adults (39%) and one in ten children (11%) are affected by obesity.
