The number of electric cars in Romania reflects the economic development of cities, with Bucharest having the highest density, with one electric car for every 75 inhabitants. The counties of Ilfov, Cluj, Timiș, Brașov, Sibiu, and Iași follow in the top, having a similar share to the wealthiest counties in the country. In contrast, the counties with the fewest electric cars are Călărași, Ialomița, and Vaslui. At the national level, the percentage of electric cars is 0.71%, well below the average of other European countries. Bucharest also leads in the hybrid segment, with one car for every 10 inhabitants. Additionally, the analysis shows that in Romania there is one car for every 2.2 inhabitants, with Bucharest having the best average, according to an analysis conducted by G4media.
