Eight bids have been submitted for the design and execution of the final section of the Unirii A8 Highway, which connects Târgu Neamț to Iași and Ungheni, facilitating road connectivity with the Republic of Moldova. The project includes the continuation of the highway on Moldovan territory, through a connection with the Flower Bridge over the Prut.
Among the bidders are four associations and four companies, including leaders such as Danlin XXL and Far Foundation. The section is 15.5 km long, with an estimated cost of 4.7 billion lei, financed through the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) Program. The contract includes the construction of 14 bridges, two tunnels, and two road junctions, with a completion duration of 46 months, focusing on the rapid completion of the segment in Moldova.
