Education unions, representing more than 250,000 employees, are calling for the resignation of Education Minister Daniel David and are announcing pickets at the ministry's headquarters. They are contesting the measures in Law 141/2025, which are causing a crisis in education, such as an increase in the teaching norm and the merging of educational establishments. The unionists accuse the government of underfunding education and research, promising a rally on September 8 with more than 30,000 members.
