Education union federations warn that recent government measures will seriously affect the quality of education and teaching staff. These measures include increasing class sizes, reducing teaching standards and cutting hourly pay. Trade unionists estimate that thousands of teaching posts will disappear and the merging of schools will lead to school drop-outs. They call on President Nicușor Dan to intervene to block these measures which jeopardize Romanian education.
