DIICOT raids in three counties: The drug network targeting 15-year-old students

The DIICOT prosecutors carried out 21 searches on Wednesday in the counties of Gorj, Mehedinți, and Timiș, in a case of trafficking in low and high-risk drugs, targeting a group that sold banned substances, including to students, some of whom were as young as 15 years old.

The investigation revealed that, at the end of 2025, four suspects formed an organized crime network, which was later expanded with another seven members. The leader of the group was responsible not only for selling drugs but also for training the other members in their preparation and distribution. The group members used the 'dead drop' method for delivering substances, and payments were made including in cryptocurrency. The drugs were sold at prices of 100 lei per gram, with discounts for larger quantities. During the investigation, quantities of drugs were confiscated and consumers identified, most of whom were students. Hearings continue at the DIICOT Gorj headquarters.
