This year's drought is putting pressure on buffalo farmers in Transylvania, who are facing difficulties in securing feed for the winter period.
Călin Andrei Zanc, the president of the Association of Buffalo Farmers in Transylvania, stated that the main concern of farmers is the animals' food, considering that the crops have been affected by weather conditions. Although water sources for animals are not a critical issue in this area, farmers, most of whom are subsistence farmers, are worried about rising production costs.
Zanc mentioned that a meeting is scheduled for next week to discuss the current situation and possible solutions. This issue may particularly affect small farms that rely on local crops for feeding.
