According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), tourist arrivals decreased by 1.8% in the first nine months of 2025, to 10.95 million people.

Romanian tourists represented 82.2% of the total, while foreign tourists accounted for 17.8%, the majority coming from Germany, Italy, and Israel. Overnight stays totaled 23.875 million, with a decrease of 0.9%. The average length of stay was 2.2 days for Romanians and 2 days for foreigners. In September 2025, arrivals were 1.261 million, down by 4%, while overnight stays were 2.709 million, down by 2.4%. The net occupancy rate of accommodation was 30.2% in September, a decrease compared to the previous year. The most arrivals were in Constanța, Bucharest, and Brașov.
