Ioan Donca died on Saturday at the age of 85, leaving behind an impressive career in Romanian diplomacy. He was ambassador to Hungary and Russia and headed diplomatic missions in China, Malaysia and other countries. He held important positions in the MFA and was recognized with the National Order 'For Merit'. After 2008 he worked in the private sector and was honorary consul of Latvia in Romania. The funeral will take place on August 25, 2025 at the Honorary Consulate of Latvia.
