Daniel David, the Minister of Education, stated that the teaching norm will not increase in 2026, emphasizing that speculations in this regard are unfounded. In a TV show, he mentioned that he was forced to issue an official denial due to rumors suggesting an increase in the teaching norm, from 22 to 24 hours. David suggested that these theories could be part of an attempt to destabilize the educational system, which is a major component of the national budget.

In contrast, the Pre-University Education Union (SIP) Hunedoara expressed skepticism regarding the minister's statements, highlighting the lack of credibility of such claims in the past. This situation reflects the existing tensions in the Romanian educational system.
