A cyber attack on the technology provider SitusAMC, which offers services for real estate creditors, may be responsible for the compromise of client data from major American banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Citi, and Morgan Stanley. The incident was announced on November 12, and SitusAMC acknowledged that certain information from its systems was affected, without specifying named clients. The compromised data includes corporate information, accounting documents, and legal contracts. SitusAMC's CEO, Michael Franco, stated that the analysis of the exposed data is ongoing and that the relevant authorities have been informed. Although the involved banks have not commented, the FBI director assured that there is no operational impact on banking services, and SitusAMC mentioned that the incident was isolated, without the involvement of ransomware.
