The Superior Council of the Magistracy has published a comparative analysis of judges' salaries in Romania compared to those in the European Union, showing that our country ranks 20th out of 27 for gross income and 22nd for net income, including bonuses. Compared to other countries, Romania has lower salaries and Romanian judges face a significantly higher workload. Appeal court presidents emphasized that salaries are not excessive and that the average retirement age is 54.
