The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) states that no legislative measures have been adopted for organizing the direct admission competition into the judiciary, and the Council has not been informed why a derogation in the field of justice is not possible.
"So far, no legislative measures have been adopted for organizing the direct admission competition into the judiciary, and the Council has not been informed why a derogation in the field of justice is not possible, as has been done in other fields, such as health or education, even though the staff shortage is at least comparable to that which allowed derogations. The number of vacant judge positions has increased to 759 from 751 in the previous month, with the deficit remaining around 15%, thus the proper functioning of justice in order to achieve a quality act of justice continues to be severely affected, to the detriment of protecting and guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of citizens," CSM points out.
