The Craiova City Hall will pay this year the amount of 29,690 euros to the European Best Destinations platform to be included in the competition 'Best Christmas Markets in Europe 2025 - 2026'. Participation in this competition offers the city international promotion, considering collaborations with renowned publications such as Forbes and Vogue.

Craiova has achieved top positions in previous years, ranking sixth in 2021 and third in 2022 for Christmas markets. This promotion has led to an increase in the number of tourists and local revenues, exemplified by a rise in hotel tax collections, from 308,375 lei in 2021 to 1,279,915 lei in 2024. The results of the 2024 competition were shared on social media over 528,000 times, achieving visibility of over 6.3 million travelers.
