The National Red Cross Society of Romania has initiated a lawsuit to annul the 'Salvamont' trademark, causing a conflict with the public mountain rescue service. Representatives of Salvamont assert that their logo, with distinct graphic elements, cannot be confused with the emblem of the Red Cross, having a triangular shape and integrating the 'cross/plus' symbol into a visual ensemble with a mountain and sky. The Red Cross argues that the 'red cross' symbol in the Salvamont logo dominates the image, generating confusion. The dispute began in the autumn of 2024, when the Red Cross notified Salvamont, and in the absence of an amicable solution, decided to take the matter to court.

Salvamont rejects the accusations and emphasizes that the trademark is legally protected, being registered until 2031. Any potential change in visual identity would involve high costs and a lengthy process. In parallel, Salvamont has launched a competition for a possible new logo, maintaining the current identity elements. Public reactions reflect regret regarding this dispute.
