Vast Băița Plai SA announces the collective dismissal of 56 employees, in the context of salary arrears of up to eight months.

Vast Băița Plai SA, currently in insolvency, has initiated a collective dismissal procedure for 56 positions out of a total of 151 employees, under conditions where workers have accumulated salary arrears of up to eight months. The Mina Băița Union, affiliated with the National Trade Union Bloc, emphasized that employees have been faced with a social, economic, and human crisis, considering the valuable mineral resources in the area.

Although the Collective Labor Contract has expired for over three years, negotiations have been blocked, and the employer has chosen dismissal instead of dialogue. The union demands the resumption of resource exploitation under legal conditions, payment of outstanding salaries, resumption of negotiations, and intervention by the authorities to ensure respect for workers. This situation has generated a profound crisis, affecting not only the employees but also the local community.
