An analysis conducted by Infocons on 20 products in the category of cold cuts, including sausages, Sibiș salami, and bacon, revealed alarming results. The president of Infocons, Sorin Mierlea, warned that a platter with various meats can contain between 100 and 120 additives, as well as excessive amounts of salt and sugar. Nutritionists emphasize that frequent consumption of cold cuts is associated with health risks, including weight gain and colorectal cancer.
Although most Romanians acknowledge that cold cuts are not healthy, many continue to consume them, considering that dangerous additives are not always mentioned on labels.
