CNE Cernavodă has decided to keep Unit 2 operational, after analyzing the operating parameters.

CNE Cernavodă has announced that Unit 2 will remain connected to the National Energy System (SEN), due to the analysis conducted by specialists on July 29-30, 2026, which confirmed that the operating parameters allow for continued operation under safe conditions.

Nuclearelectrica constantly monitors the operating parameters and safety margins, taking into account the hydrological forecasts for the Danube, which can influence the operation of the plant. The shutdown of Unit 2 may be necessary at any moment, depending on negative fluctuations in hydrological conditions. Unit 1 remains shut down until the level of the Danube allows for safe reconnection.
