The Bistrița-Năsăud County Committee for Emergency Situations has decided to suspend in-person classes in all educational institutions in the municipality of Bistrița for January 9, 2026, due to yellow code weather warnings, which announce heavy snowfall, the accumulation of a layer of snow, ice, strong winds, and low temperatures.

The measure was taken to protect the safety of students, teaching staff, and auxiliary personnel. Classes will continue online, and the decision regarding the method of conducting classes will be made by each educational institution individually. Additionally, classes have also been suspended in four other localities in the county.
