PNL leaders gathered at the headquarters on Modrogan 22, where Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of Sector 6, was elected the party's candidate for the Bucharest City Hall, obtaining 11 votes in favor, against Stelian Bujduveanu, who received 4 votes, while another 4 votes were annulled.

The meeting was tense, considering that Bujduveanu was supported by another faction within PNL. Important leaders such as Ilie Bolojan, Cătălin Predoiu, and Bucharest parliamentarians attended the meeting. Bolojan, the president of PNL, announced three days prior that he supports Ciucu, considering him the best positioned in the polls.

According to a recent poll, Ciucu is in second place in voter preferences, with 23%, behind Daniel Băluță (PSD), who has 25%.
