Chris Țurlică, the founder of MaintainX, achieved one of the largest entrepreneurial exits in Romania, selling his company to the giant Autodesk for 3.6 billion dollars.
MaintainX, founded in 2018, develops software for managing industrial maintenance operations, essential for the functioning of factories. The transaction, Autodesk's largest acquisition, expands the company's portfolio beyond design software, integrating operations and asset management. MaintainX, previously valued at 2.5 billion dollars, generates recurring revenues of approximately 115 million dollars, with a growth rate of over 50%.
The acquisition will allow Autodesk to develop artificial intelligence-based solutions for optimizing equipment maintenance. The transaction is financed through cash and debt, and MaintainX employees will receive restricted stock worth 150 million dollars. This represents a quick and profitable exit for investors and places Țurlică among the successful Romanian entrepreneurs in technology.
