From August 2025 onwards, the unemployment benefit will be subject to a 10% CASS tax, deducted directly at source. According to Law No 76/2002, the allowance is a partial compensation for people who have lost their job for reasons not attributable to them. Entitlement to the allowance is established for those who have terminated their employment for various reasons, including graduates who have not taken up employment.
