In a context of crisis, Education Minister Daniel David has announced that substitute teachers will no longer be rehired as of September 1, leaving room only for tenured teachers. The decision follows an increase in the number of teachers and pupils. David emphasized that the remaining teachers will have more teaching hours for the same pay. He also noted that unions have the right to protest, but warned of possible layoffs without these measures.
