CFR SA, the state-owned company that manages Romania's railway infrastructure, will implement a four-day working week for about 1,400 employees, starting August 4. The measure is aimed at cutting costs, with estimated savings of more than 3.2 million lei per month. Employees' salaries will fall by about 20%, and the proposal is still subject to negotiations with unions. The initiative reflects a European trend towards shorter working weeks, aimed at improving productivity and work-life balance.
