CFR Călători has said that there is no danger of bankruptcy or shutdown, contradicting rumors that have appeared in the public space. The company has complained about financial problems related to under-compensation and a decrease in revenues forecast for 2025, which could affect public transportation. In a letter to the transport minister, company executives warned that without additional funding, there is a risk of trains being canceled, especially on non-electrified sections. The company claims that the compensation allocated is insufficient to cover operating costs.
