CFR Marfă is facing an alarming financial situation, recording losses of 328 million lei in 2024 and outstanding debts to the state budget exceeding one billion lei.

The RisCo analysis emphasizes that these losses are the result of inefficient management and a lack of investments in infrastructure, affecting not only financial stability but also the safety of over 3,000 employees.

In 2024, the operator's turnover decreased by 13%, reaching 677 million lei, while losses increased by up to 42%. Total revenues were 839 million lei, but expenses exceeded one billion, generating constant losses.

Although the company offers diversified services, the number of employees has decreased by 5%, indicating persistent instability. Experts recommend structural measures to streamline costs and relaunch commercial activity to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
