At CFR Călători, General Director Traian Preoteasa has implemented a work program called 'interrupted program', which requires several employees to come to work twice a day without receiving additional pay. This measure was adopted in the context of the cancellation of some trains, which led to the closure of ticket offices for long periods. Employees are forced to travel long distances, sometimes tens of kilometers, to avoid waiting in the station during waiting intervals.
For example, an employee who previously worked 12 hours a day to reach the norm of 180 hours a month now has to work 8 hours in two shifts, with 4 unpaid hours. This change has led to an increase in the number of trips made by employees, from 30 to 92 a month. The measure has not been verified by the Railway Reform Authority or the Labor Inspection, raising questions about its legality and impact on employees and the services provided to customers.
