The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) rejected on Thursday the complaints filed by AUR regarding the state budget and the social security budget laws for 2026, adopted on March 20.
AUR contested these laws, accusing the government of legislative deviations and adopting normative acts without a real debate in parliament.
The party invoked the compression of the legislative process and the lack of a serious analysis of the impact of the budgets on the economy and citizens.
AUR criticized the budget's foundation, considering it optimistic and inconsistent with economic reality, and highlighted the violation of social rights through the non-indexation of pensions. Additionally, AUR accused the disregard for the opinions of consultative institutions and the lack of consultation with social partners, believing that these practices affect the democratic process.
