The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) will discuss on Wednesday the referral from President Nicușor Dan regarding the unconstitutionality of the law concerning the use of the Black Sea beach. This law allows local authorities to receive for free a share of up to 20% of the beaches used for tourism purposes, which, according to the president, contravenes the constitutional provisions stating that beaches are public domain assets of the state. Additionally, the CCR will analyze another referral from the president regarding the law that requires at least 40% of athletes in national teams to be Romanian, considered discriminatory and contrary to the principle of free access to work.
Moreover, AUR has sent a referral to the CCR, contesting the appointment of members of the Boards of Administration of SRTV and SRR, claiming that the parliamentary proportion has not been respected, which affects political representativeness. AUR requests the admission of the referral to restore legality in these public institutions.
