Carlos Mulas-Granados, a Spanish citizen, will take over the position of Regional Representative for the IMF in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, based in Warsaw. He succeeds Geoff Gottlieb, who is returning to the IMF headquarters. Mulas-Granados was previously Deputy Head of the IMF's Strategy Unit and played a significant role in collaboration with international organizations. With extensive experience in various economies, he joins the IMF team after a professional career that also includes activities in the Government of Spain and the European Commission.
