On Tuesday, March 10, Captain Palferenț Octavian, a 30-year-old soldier from the 71st Air Base 'General Emanoil Ionescu', died during a mission at the 86th Air Base 'Lieutenant Aviator Gheorghe Mociorniță'. He intervened to save a dog that had fallen into a water tank, but despite the resuscitation efforts made by colleagues and the Emergency Service crew, his life could not be saved.

The captain was married and had no children.
