Călin Georgescu admitted that he lied when he denied knowing Horațiu Potra, stating that he did so at Potra's request.

Georgescu explained that he had lied about knowing Potra at Potra's request in order to protect them both. He also confirmed that he had refused SPP protection, preferring the Foreign Legion. In addition to these disclosures, allegations have also emerged that Georgescu demanded money from billionaire Frank Timis through Potra.
