Tiphaine Auzière, the stepdaughter of French President Emmanuel Macron, testified in a trial against 10 individuals accused of spreading unfounded claims about Brigitte Macron. She highlighted the negative impact of online harassment on her mother's health, who has been the target of conspiracy theories claiming she is a transgender woman. Auzière mentioned that Brigitte had to be careful about her public image and that the attacks also affected her grandchildren. Prosecutors are seeking suspended prison sentences and fines for the defendants, who are aged between 41 and 65. One of the accused, Aurélien Poirson-Atlan, claimed he wanted to provide a different perspective, while two other defendants have already been found guilty of defamation. The Macron couple intends to present evidence in court to counter these claims.
