The government led by Ilie Bolojan will implement, starting September 1, 2025, a 10% CASS tax on pensions exceeding 3,000 lei, part of a fiscal package aimed at reducing state spending. This measure will affect all categories of pensions, including public and private, without exception. Pensioners who do not pay contributions will have to meet other conditions to remain insured, while those with no income will be able to opt for voluntary insurance.
