In Friday's meeting, the Government led by Ilie Bolojan will discuss fiscal-budgetary measures to reduce the budget deficit, with a first package of measures to be adopted next week. Among the proposals include changes to VAT, higher taxes on dividends and excise duties, a freeze on increases in public pensions and salaries, and the introduction of taxes on bank profits. These measures will take effect from August 1, 2025, with the exception of taxes on dividends, which will apply from January 1, 2026.
