The prosecutors from Botoșani have opened a criminal case for murder after finding a victim buried in a household.

The judicial authorities in Botoșani are conducting investigations to identify a corpse found in the yard of a man from the commune of Vârfu Câmpului, who has been missing since April.

The man, 48 years old, had been sought by the police since June 21, when his family reported that they could no longer contact him. The investigation suggests that he may have been murdered and buried on his property.

On August 3, following some checks, the corpse was discovered, and the authorities are working to establish the identity of the victim and the circumstances of the death. A criminal case for murder has been opened, and the investigations are being coordinated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Botoșani Tribunal.
