The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has announced the launch of two commemorative coins in the numismatic circuit themed "Steaua Bucharest – 40 years since winning the European Champions Cup". These coins include a silver coin and one made of copper-plated tombac, dedicated to celebrating an emblematic moment in the history of Romanian football.

Steaua Bucharest became the first Romanian team to win the prestigious European competition in 1986, an event that marked a golden era for Romanian sports.

The coins will be available for collectors and football enthusiasts, thus highlighting the importance of this moment in the country's sports culture. BNR continues the tradition of honoring significant achievements in national history through numismatic issues.
