Bernd Bergmair, an Austrian businessman and former owner of MindGeek, has expressed interest in acquiring the international assets of the sanctioned Russian oil company, Lukoil. Although he communicated through his lawyer, Bergmair did not provide details about the specific assets he is targeting or about possible contacts with Lukoil. He emphasized that Lukoil International GmbH would represent an excellent investment. Interest in Lukoil's assets has increased after the U.S. Treasury allowed companies to negotiate their sale until December 13. Lukoil owns refineries in Europe and stakes in oil fields in various countries, valuing its assets at approximately $22 billion. Recent sanctions imposed by the U.S. target Russian oil companies, including Lukoil, in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
