According to the NSI, the average gross wage fell by 228 lei in May 2025, while the average net wage fell by 139 lei. The largest decreases were in the insurance (-27.6%) and oil and gas extraction (-27.1%) sectors. On the other hand, net wages increased in computer manufacturing (+4.1%) and in the budget sector, with a 3% increase in education. Compared with May 2024, average net wage earnings rose by 7.6%.
