Aumovio, a company recently spun off from Continental AG, has announced staff reductions that will affect approximately 5% of its global workforce. These reductions will primarily be implemented in locations in India, Singapore, Romania, Serbia, Germany, and Mexico. The aim of these measures is to reduce research and development expenses to less than 10% of revenues by 2027, compared to 11.9% in the third quarter of 2025. CEO Philipp von Hirschheydt emphasized that the company is focused on increasing efficiency and protecting its market position, considering a challenging economic environment. Additionally, Aumovio has revised its sales forecasts due to weaker demand in certain regions, which affects suppliers. In Romania, the automotive sector of the Continental group is present in the cities of Brașov, Iași, Sibiu, and Timișoara.
