The Romanian Army has been mobilized to protect the operation of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant, carrying out hydrographic measurements on the Danube.

The Ministry of National Defense announced the mobilization of armed forces to ensure the safe operation of the Nuclear Power Plant in Cernavodă, in the context of a critical situation on the Danube.

The military's activity aims to obtain the technical data necessary for constructing a submerged dam that will redistribute part of the Danube's flow towards the Old Danube. The Naval Forces are conducting measurements between kilometers 345 and 346 of the Danube, in the area of intersection with the Bala Branch, to establish the parameters necessary for the construction of this dam. Military specialists are analyzing the riverbed and the water depth, and the collected data will be transmitted to the authorities responsible for managing the situation. The Ministry of National Defense emphasizes the importance of these measurements in support of the critical energy infrastructure in Cernavodă, thus ensuring optimal operating conditions.
