The Association of Automobile Producers and Importers (APIA) sent a letter to the Prime Minister, criticizing the car taxation project for not discouraging old and polluting vehicles. APIA argues that the tax is based on outdated criteria, ignoring CO2 emissions, and that the tax differences between old and new cars are insufficient. It mentions that the proposal does not reflect economic realities and does not encourage the transition to greener vehicles, perpetuating the competitive advantage of polluting cars. APIA calls for an urgent re-evaluation of the taxation formula.
